Spring Break 2024 - Take a fun and affordable trip to Bartlesville!
Spring has sprung!
Here’s some ideas to have fun if you find yourself in Bartlesville this Spring Break!
Find yourself where the buffalo roam… Looking to get out of the city but stay close to home? Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve is the perfect place to enjoy nature, art, and fun! Woolaroc’s Mountain Man Camp and Animal Barn open for the season March 20. Why not escape into the 1840’s where you can learn to shoot a black powder rifle or learn to throw an axe. Enjoy lunch at the beautifully renovated Welcome Center and try out the unique offerings of the Prairie Dome Café. Spend the afternoon exploring the world class Woolaroc museum, hiking on the nature trails, or petting all the cute babies in the animal barn.
Spend the night at one of Bartlesville’s many hotels and enjoy a relaxing dinner at Hideaway Pizza, Remi’s Arcade and Bistro, or The Exchange at Crossing 2nd. Remi’s has a one-of-a-kind arcade and Crossing 2nd has table tennis, pool, and plenty of board games on hand. Try out something sweet at Jared’s Frozen Custard before heading off to bed.
Then it’s time to rest for the next day, there’s still so much to do! If you like history, Bartlesville can take you way back with places like the Bartlesville Area History Museum, the Frank Phillips Home, or Price Tower Arts Center. All three museums explore Oklahoma’s oil heritage, with the Price Tower highlighting the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Bartlesville Area History Museum focusing on our early founders and the three tribes in the area, the Delaware, the Cherokee, and the Osage.
Have lunch at one of Bartlesville’s favorites like Murphy’s Steak House, home of the hot hamburger with gravy over all. Or try Frank & Lola’s and their famous pork green chili. There are also locations like Bambino’s or The Eatery to give you a great sandwich and they’ll even pack it to go. You may want to grab a lunch and check out Johnstone Park or Sooner Park, too. They are the perfect place for a picnic!
Work off all those calories with a leisurely stroll down Pathfinder Parkway which is located throughout the city or around Lee Lake off Highway 69 in Bartlesville. Speaking of Lee Lake, why not try a paddle boat or kayak as a new adventure? The Paddle Boats at Lee Lake will open during spring break and it’s a fun way to get in the water without getting (too) wet. If you’ve been cooped up all winter and can’t wait to play some games, check out one of our disc golf courses! The Sooner Park disc golf course is right next to an updated playground and Adams Golf Course. Lee Lake also hosts the Safari Smiles Disc Golf Park and is right next door to Cooper Dog Park for our four-legged pals. Skateboard enthusiasts can also check out the skate park near Lee Lake for fun on four wheels!
If you’ve never played disc golf, have no fear! Washington Park Mall has two locations to get you all the gear you may need for a game. Double Bogey has a selection of new and used discs and Dunham’s Sporting Goods has starter sets if you’re ready to go all in. Bartlesville has all this fun and more for an affordable spring break destination. We’re located just north of Tulsa on Highway 75 and ready to welcome you for art, history, and fun! We’ve got lots of choices to make lasting memories with your family – all that’s missing is you!
