Boot Hollow Joins Oklahoma Golf Trail
The City-owned Boots Hollow Golf Club has been chosen as one of this year’s four new additions to the Oklahoma Golf Trail, a statewide collection of 22 premier public and private courses designed to showcase Oklahoma’s top golf destinations. The designation places Boots Hollow alongside some of the most celebrated layouts in the state and highlights the course’s recent improvements.
Created through House Bill 3647 in 2022, the Oklahoma Golf Trail was established to promote the state’s golf culture, scenic landscapes and tourism opportunities. The Oklahoma Golf Trail Commission, created through the same legislation, oversees the variety of participating courses and promotes the trail as a statewide tourism and recreation initiative. The trail spans Oklahoma’s diverse terrain — starting with tree‑lined northeastern hills to the wide‑open, wind‑swept courses of the west — offering golfers a curated road‑trip experience supported by a dedicated website and app for planning tee times and travel.
Assistant City Manager Laura Sanders said the recognition reflects both the quality of the course and the community’s investment in its future.
“Being included on the Oklahoma Golf Trail is an incredible honor for our community, and it reflects the vision and hard work that went into transforming Boots Hollow into a premier destination,” Sanders said. “This recognition affirms what our golfers have been telling us — that Boots Hollow offers a truly memorable experience that blends strategy, scenery and a sense of place you can’t find anywhere else.”
“We’re also grateful for Vice Mayor Trevor Dorsey’s leadership in championing Boots Hollow throughout this process. His advocacy helped ensure the Commission understood what a special asset this course is for Bartlesville and for golfers across the state.”
Boots Hollow’s 2025 greens replacement project improved the course’s consistency and playability while preserving the wide‑open parkland layout that local golfers know well. The new greens sharpened the course’s strategic character, rewarding thoughtful approach shots and giving players a smoother, more reliable putting surface. Turkey Creek continues to define the course’s personality, weaving through the property and influencing play on 12 holes — a natural feature that sets Boots Hollow apart within the trail’s lineup.
Director of Golf Dee Roadman said the designation validates the course’s evolution and the work that went into enhancing the golfer experience.
“We’re thrilled to see Boots Hollow recognized at the state level, especially after such a transformative year for the course,” Roadman said. “This is a big moment for our staff, our golfers, and the entire community.”
“The greens project gave us the chance to elevate the course in a meaningful way, and being named to the Oklahoma Golf Trail tells us we hit the mark.”
Roadman said visiting golfers will find a course that is both approachable and challenging, with generous landing areas that quickly give way to more technical decisions as players approach the green.
“Golfers who come here quickly realize that Boots Hollow requires strategic tee shots and accurate approaches, with Turkey Creek keeping you honest on a dozen holes. It’s a course that stays with you.”
With its addition to the Oklahoma Golf Trail, Boots Hollow Golf Club is now featured alongside 21 other top Oklahoma golf experiences, offering players a chance to explore the state’s landscapes, history and hospitality one round at a time. Learn more at the Oklahoma Golf Trail website.
