Western Heritage Weekend, full of activities

Attend Dewey's Western Heritage Weekend to celebrate Oklahoma's early beginnings with lots of activities including the Tom Mix Festival, a parade and a Wild West show. Activities for this two-day event include live bands, trick roping, trick riding, skill shooting, Western games for children and plenty of food vendors. A new addition this year is the "Flyer Express" Train Ride. Train Ride sponsored by the Washington County Historical Society. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at the Tom Mix Museum...

The Price Tower Arts Center has been awarded Oklahoma’s first Keeping It Modern Award by the Getty Foundation, an honor only 12 recipients from around the world can claim for 2017-18 (one of two in the United States).

The Price Tower was humbled to discover their proposal was accepted, but when the news came that they were chosen for this competitive and coveted award to the sum of $75,000, the team was beyond ecstatic and so proud to bring this award and recognition to Oklahoma. The Price Tower Arts Center announces the opening of TALISMAN: Celebrating Jody Kirberger exhibit.

The exhibit officially opens to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 15th, will offer free admission. Jody Kirberger (1929 – 2014) is a Bartlesville legend in her own right as she was instrumental in bringing many of the fine art pieces that find homes in collectors throughout the community. Pepper Hume will be teaching a class on Doll Making at Bartlesville Art Association beginning Monday, Aug. 21 at 6:00pm at Price Tower Design Center. During the 4 week class students will create a Witch doll for Halloween. Students will sculpt and paint a clay head and hands.
