Soar into Washington County’s Aviation history with Joe Todd, a retired oral historian from the Oklahoma Historical Society and recipient of the Major General Douglas O. Dollar Distinguished Public Service Award, as he introduces the short film “50 Years of Powered Flight” as part of the “A 50,000-Foot View: The Stratospheric Rise of Aviation in Washington County” exhibit. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lunch or can enjoy light refreshments provided by BAHM while learning about the Dewey Airport, Billy Parker, Wiley Post and more! This event will be held Thursday, January 19th, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., for attendees to enjoy the museum exhibits and browse the gift shop. At noon, the presentation will begin. Tables and chairs will be set up for people who bring a lunch, and little ones can enjoy the airplane coloring station. The Museum is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (closed on weekends and holidays) at 401 S. Johnstone Avenue, 5th Floor. Museum entry is free, but donations are always welcome.
