Posted: January 30, 2019

The Bartlesville Symphony’s upcoming “Heart & Soul” concert will feature a surprise musical guest, noted local pianist Wade Daniel.

“I often like to include a special guest on our Valentine concert,” commented BSO conductor Lauren Green. “Wade and I have talked about this for several years and I’m excited that he’ll finally be performing with us.”

“Heart and Soul,” the orchestra’s annual Valentine concert, takes place Saturday, February 9 at 7:30 pm at the Bartlesville Community Center, and will feature a wide variety of songs and musical styles, all about love and romance.

Daniel will be featured soloist with the orchestra on several selections, including popular classic American love songs that he has imaginatively arranged in musical styles ranging from jazz to classical.

A native Texan, Wade Daniel is the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in Bartlesville, where he has been on staff since 2009. He has served in that role in Baptist churches for 35 years.

He received four music degrees from Lamar University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While in college he was also a lead tenor soloist in several oratorio and opera productions and performed the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Lamar University Orchestra.

He has released 10 CD’s, adjudicated competitions for the National Piano Guild, and accompanied several professional soloists and touring choirs.

Since moving to Bartlesville with his wife Becky, Daniel has performed in several community events including OKMozart, Circle the State With Song, the Boys and Girls Club Big Event, Elder Care, and Oklahoma Wesleyan University.  He was also guest pianist/entertainer for five consecutive years for LifeWay events at the Chateau on The Lake Resort in Branson.

He has served as adjunct professor of piano at Oklahoma Wesleyan University and maintains a private piano and voice studio.
