Return to full Blog

Welcome to the Bartlesville Convention & Visitors Bureau website! We hope you enjoy our new website where you can find more information on all of the fun that Bartlesville has to offer. Visitors that come to Bartlesville will enjoy discovering find Frank Lloyd Wright, Oil Barons and the Story of the American West. They’ll also learn that Bartlesville is the place where Oklahoma oil began with the Nellie Johnstone No. 1, Oklahoma’s first commercial oil well.

All of our attractions are only a part of what makes Bartlesville special. Our unique events, with everything from classical music to Native American culture to celebrating the Wild West, are what keep bringing travelers back year after year. We feel like our small but sophisticated community is the perfect setting for the various music, cultural and sporting events that take place throughout the year.

Native merican powow dance in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Right now, Bartlesville is preparing for one of their favorite times of the year. Next month we will host four unique events and we hope you’ll make plans to attend one (or all!) of them. These events represent so much of what identifies Oklahoma. Oklahoma Indian Summer is the largest intertribal powwow in the state of Oklahoma. Guests can enjoy Native American food, culture, dancing and artwork. This year they will be hosting Billy Mills, a Native American and gold medal winning Olympic athlete. Western Heritage Weekend takes place in Dewey and celebrates the life of the American cowboy. Events include a Longhorn Cattle drive through Main Street and an old fashioned Wild West show at Prairie Song. If you haven’t been this is something you won’t want to miss. The Tulsa Regional Fly-in takes place at Bartlesville Municipal Airport and hosts vintage aircraft from across the country. Attendees can see all different kinds of planes and even take a ride! This event highlights Bartlesville’s proud history with aviation through the Phillips Petroleum Company. Finally, a new event will take place this year – the U.S. Title Series Green Country Championships. Described as “NASCAR on the water” this event promotes professional, outboard, hydroplane and runabout racing and will take place at Copan Lake. This year the event will have events and activities for everyone including food, entertainment and children’s activities.

So, there’s a lot going on in Bartlesville! We thought a new website would be a great way to help you stay informed and learn more about our community. We’d love to help you plan your next weekend getaway to Bartlesville. We think you will have a great time while you’re here – our events, attractions and community can’t wait to see you!
