BAHM Monday Movie Home on the Range

Lone Chimney's 4th film, tells the story of the iconic song "Home on the Range." In 1871 frontier doctor, Brewster Higley moved from Indiana to Smith County, Kansas under the Homestead Act. So moved by his new surroundings he wrote a poem inspired by his small cabin, the prairie and Beaver Creek. The poem was published in the Smith County Pioneer in 1874 as, "My Western Home" and later became the lyrics to "Home on the Range."
