Summer Sundown Movies presented by The Bartlesville Film Society and Price Tower Arts Center

The Bartlesville Film Society and Price Tower Arts Center are coming together to present the Summer Sundown Screenings.

 

June 29th

Iron Giant

The Bartlesville Film Society and the Price Tower Arts Center are partnering together to present this year's Summer Sundown Movies lineup. On Friday, June 29th we will be showing a FREE screening of the Warner Bros. classic animated film "The Iron Giant" outside under the stars at the Price Tower beginning at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and families to this all ages community event.

 

Set during the Cold War in 1957, the film is about a young boy named Hogarth Hughes, who discovers a giant metallic robot who fell from space. With the help of beatnik artist Dean McCoppin, they attempt to prevent the U.S. military and Kent Mansley, a paranoid federal agent, from finding and destroying the Giant.

July 20th

Toy Story

 

The Bartlesville Film Society and the Price Tower Arts Center are partnering together to present this year's Summer Sundown Movies lineup. On Friday, July 20th we will be showing a FREE screening of the Disney/Pixar classic animated film "Toy Story" outside under the stars at the Price Tower beginning at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and families to this all ages community event. 

Toy Story was the first feature-length computer-animated film and the first feature film produced by Pixar. It tells the story of a group of toys, led by Woody the cowboy (Tom Hanks), and their reaction when a new, more advanced toy named Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) enters the household. 

"Toy Story" has a running time of 81 minutes and is rated G. Popcorn and concessions will be available at the event.

August 4th

The Outsiders

The Bartlesville Film Society and the Price Tower Arts Center are partnering together to present this year's Summer Sundown Movies lineup. On Friday, August 10th we will be showing a FREE screening of Francis Ford Coppola's classic "The Outsiders" outside under the stars at the Price Tower beginning at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and families to this all ages community event. 

Based on the book by S.E. Hinton, "The Outsiders" tells the story of two rival teen gangs in Tulsa, OK. The film is noted for its cast of up-and-coming stars, including C. Thomas Howell (who garnered a Young Artist Award), Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, and Diane Lane. The film helped spark the Brat Pack genre of the 1980s. It was shot primarily in Tulsa, and to this day "the Outsiders house" is a tourist attraction for those that visit the area. 

"The Outsiders" has a running time of 92 minutes and is rated PG-13 for violence, teen drinking and smoking, and some sexual references. Popcorn and concessions will be available at the event.

NOTE: The start time of 9pm for this event is tentative. The movie will begin as soon as it is dark outside. Please plan to attend the event during dusk.
