PAO has achieved many accomplishments in the three-year span of the organization.  They have promoted local museums, galleries, artists and performing arts, provided an Artist in residence during the summer who gave classes to our community and were key in promoting Dance Maker Academy’s first production of the Nutcracker Ballet  Preserving Arts hosted two national art exhibits in Pawhuska that have been featured in national art magazines. The Oklahoma Sculptor Society show, and Oklahoma Creative Communities.  PAO past president, Bruce Carter, has been named Creative Oklahoman of 2017. PAO hosted art exhibits in Pawhuska that are generally only found in larger cities for instance,  “Native Pop” whose previous exhibit location was in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the national “American Plains Artist” which is usually only shown in large museums.

PAO continues a goal of completing the Ben Johnson memorial. Ben ‘Son’ Johnson’s is known for his roles in numerous motion pictures as well as winning an Academy Award for 'The Last Picture Show". He was a World Champion Steer Roper and inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. This will be a lasting tribute to an outstanding gentleman. On March 23 there will be drawing for the Winner of the Maquette of the Ben Johnson Memorial.
