Dance Maker Performing Arts Academy will hold Spring Performances on May 20th and 21st.

Dance Maker Academy will be performing scenes from The Sleeping Beauty on May 20th and 21st at their 9th Annual Spring Performances at the Constantine Theatre on Main Street in Pawhuska. The performances are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on May 20th and 3 p.m. on May 21st. Tickets for the performances are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Pawhuska, OK and surrounding communities have embraced the academy since it opened in the spring of 2014. The students attending the academy not only learn to dance, but they also learn the importance of hard work and dedication and how to give back to their communities by sharing their talent.

Jenna LaViolette, the Director of Dance, is a graduate of Oral Roberts University dance program and choreographer of Wahzhazhe, the Osage Ballet that tells of the extraordinary history of the Osage people. She is thankful for the support the academy has received.

Dance Maker Academy students thrive on moral support and the Legacy Scholarship donations of the surrounding communities. Legacy Scholarships allow students to flourish and realize dreams that some did not even know they had. Donors include Osage Nation Foundation,

Osage Casinos, Ree Drummond, Running Strong for American Indian Youth, Artists of Indian America, Will and Anne Baker, Jr., Jerry and Marlene Mosley, Dr. Cameron and Melanie Rumsey, Steve and Ann Teget and many other amazing organizations and people. Select programming is made possible in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council, which receives support from the State of Oklahoma and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Dance Maker Performing Arts Academy is a non-profit organization and currently needs donors to assist with scholarships for the 2023-2024 season.
