BSO Warms Heart & Soul with Valentine Concert

Posted: January 29, 2019

Let the Bartlesville Symphony woo you and your special someone with “Heart & Soul”—the orchestra’s annual Valentine concert, Saturday, February 9 at 7:30 pm at the Bartlesville Community Center.

With music ranging from favorite pop songs over the decades, to the movies, and to the classics, this concert has something to warm everyone’s heart.

“This concert gets better and better every year,” enthused BSO Conductor Lauren Green. “It’s amazing the incredible variety of musical favorites that all focus on love and romance!”

The theme from the movie “The Apartment”, Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March”, “Unchained Melody” from the movie ‘Ghost’, “Indian Love Call”, “All the Things You Are”, and the Waltz from “Sleeping Beauty” are only five of nearly 20 selections on the program.

Well-known pianist Wade Daniel will also be featured as soloist in this fun, eclectic evening of musical romance. From jazz to the classics, Daniel always delights audiences with his piano stylings. His genre-bending take on several classic love songs, including “How Deep is the Ocean” and “My Funny Valentine” will be a highlight of the evening.

Daniel is the Minister of Music at First Baptist in Bartlesville and holds several music degrees. With 10 CD’s under his belt, he has performed locally and throughout his native Texas.

“Bartlesville has such tremendous talent right here in the city limits,” commented Maestro Green. “Between Wade and our own amazing orchestra players, this will be a great evening of romantic music!”

As an added attraction, the symphony has partnered with local restaurants Tinker’s GlassHouse and El Maguey Mexican Grill to provide special custom date night packages for the Saturday, February 9 performance.  The packages include dinner, desert, drinks, and two tickets to the concert.  A rose is included!  Call the BSO Office at 918-336-7717 for more details and pricing.
