Posted: March 27, 2017
It’s time to celebrate the elegance of spring at Martha’s Task Purse-n-ali-tea 2017, which brings together festive refreshments, quality handcrafted merchandise and lively entertainment for an afternoon fundraiser.
A delightful spring tradition, the seventh annual Purse-N-Ali-Tea party will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 210 SE Ninth St. Tickets are $25 each with all funds raised going to support Martha’s Task, an economic development program providing sewing instruction, contract work, marketing, financial support and advocacy for low income women.
“Purse-n-ali-tea is just a wonderful event all the way around with lovely food, entertainment and, of course, purses,” Martha’s Task Director Laura Walton said. “We are really excited about this year’s party and can’t wait to see all of the amazing hats and gloves our guests are wearing for the big event.
Sponsors for this year’s tea include ABB, Truity Credit Union,Wal-Mart Distribution Center and Keepsake Candles. This year’s entertainment brings together the musical talents of one of Bartlesville’s most talented families with a performance by Joanie Elmore, Ann-Janette and Evanjalyn Webster and Jarrod Elmore.
Purse-N-Ali-Tea combines delicate desserts and tea sandwiches served on elegant place settings with a silent auction of amazing handcrafted purses created by talented area seamstresses exclusively for Martha’s Task. More than 40 one-of-a-kind purses will be sold to the highest bidder during the afternoon.
This festive celebration raises funds for Martha’s Task, which has since the year 2000 worked to improve the lives of women living in low income situations by providing training, support and emergency assistance programs.
